Kate supports individuals and families navigating separation, divorce, and major life transitions. Her clients often arrive feeling stuck, overwhelmed, or uncertain about how to move forward—especially when faced with the emotional and practical realities of relationship change. Through their work together, clients discover new perspectives, regain confidence, and develop practical strategies to rebuild and thrive.
Whether you’re adjusting to life after separation, navigating co-parenting challenges, managing workplace stress, Kate provides a safe, collaborative space where real progress can happen. Her approach is strengths-based, solution-focused, and grounded in both professional expertise and lived experience.
Having navigated her own separation and the challenges of co-parenting, Kate brings a deep personal understanding of what it means to lose the familiar shape of family life—and to rebuild it with intention and care. She has a special interest in supporting individuals and families through the loss of the family unit, helping them find new ways to connect, redefine belonging, and create stability and hope after change. Kate also has a late ADHD diagnosis and works with many individuals, families and workplaces to better manage neuro diversity and build on their strengths.
As an accredited mediator and counsellor, Kate helps:
• Families and individuals navigating separation or co-parenting challenges to reduce conflict, improve communication, and prioritise the wellbeing of children.
• Workplaces supporting employees through personal transitions, fostering understanding and preventing burnout.Drawing on evidence-based approaches—including Solution-Focused Brief Therapy (SFBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), and Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT)—Kate helps clients create meaningful, sustainable change as they navigate life after separation.
Based in Christchurch Kate sees clients in person or online throughout New Zealand.
Qualifications:
Kate is a counsellor, coach, and accredited mediator with a Master of Counselling (Distinction), a BA in Psychology, and an MBA in Organisational Behaviour. She also holds certifications as an executive coach, relationship dissolution coach, and Gallup strengths coach.
